LIGHT THE BLOCK
Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ & Being a Light in Our Community.
Light the Block is the community outreach ministry of The Light Church. Our mission is simple: to take the love of Jesus beyond the walls of the church by serving our neighbors, meeting practical needs, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
We believe the Church isn't just a place we gather on Sundays—it's a people sent into the community to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Every act of kindness is an opportunity to point people to the hope found in Christ. Whether we're praying with a family, helping a widow with yard work, cleaning up a neighborhood, or completing a small repair, our desire is for every person we serve to experience the love of Jesus.
Every Light the Block project begins with people, not projects. Our greatest desire is to pray with people, encourage them, and share the hope of the Gospel. From there, we meet practical needs through services such as:
Need a Helping Hand?
If you or someone you know has a project or practical need, we'd love the opportunity to serve. Simply complete the Light the Block Project Request Form, and our team will prayerfully review each submission. While we can't guarantee every request can be completed, we will do our best to serve as many people as possible.
Want to Serve?
Light the Block is for anyone who wants to make a difference. Whether you have construction skills, enjoy yard work, love praying with people, or simply have a willing heart, there's a place for you. Join one of our serve teams and help us bring the love of Jesus into our community.
Our Mission
At The Light Church, we believe Jesus has called us to be the light of the world.
"You are the light of the world... let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 5:14–16 (ESV)
Our prayer is that every project points people to Christ and every act of service opens the door for the Gospel.
Be the Light so no one gets left in the dark.
"Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions."
1 John 3:18 (NLT)
